Closter’s Icy-Warm Chanukah Bash

More than 200 people watched as a 7 foot tall ice menorah was sculpted live at Chabad of Closter’s Chanukah celebration at the Borough Hall last Monday.

While the icy structure headlined the event on the chilly December evening, the atmosphere was warm. Locals shared the holiday cheer by singing traditional Chanukah tunes while sipping hot cocoa and eating latkas, donuts and traditional treats. Kids enjoyed balloons, prizes and light up dreidel and menorah necklaces.

The event was hosted by Rabbi Yossi and Mushky Gluckowsky, who recently launched the new Chabad Center as a satellite branch of Chabad of Tenafly. Tenafly Chabad’s Rabbi Mordechai Shain joined Mayor John Glidden and Borough Administrator Arthur Dolson in attendance.

Rabbi Yossi and Mushky Gluckowsky would like to thank the Closter Borough, Police, and Fire Department for all their help in the event.
